Johnson-Thompson and Ingebrigtsen were voted European Athletes of the Month for October

Great Britain’s Katarina Johnson-Thompson and Norway’s Jakob Ingebrigtsen have been voted European Athletes of the Month for October 2019.

On the women’s side, world heptathlon champion Johnson-Thompson accrued 4212 votes to win. 

On the men’s side, Ingebrigtsen tallied an incredible 8135 votes

The European Athlete of the Month initiative was launched in 2007 and five male and five female athletes are nominated based solely on their performances in the previous month. No athlete who has served a doping ban of two years or longer can be nominated for the award.
